Ls6 cam and springs in a 01 ls1?
Yes I know many, many people have done this and haven't had any problems, but I read part of a post that CaMMin Beast wrote:
BTW, the valves in an LS6 are different and the 02 springs have a different seat height. Thats one of the reasons you dont find GM putting them in the ls1 at the assembly plant.
So, I have 02' cam, seats and retainers. If I switch to the 02 cam and parts, would the different seat height cause any long term issues being to high? I know it's like a .00xx difference, and like I said I know personally several people who have a ls6 cam in their ls1. Anyone with a Phd in engineering degree, please help....j/k.

The '02 springs/'02 cam will work just fine in your '01 LS1. I am about to install this exact same setup in a friend's car. I would recommend using Comp 918s though. I ran the '02 LS6 cam with 918s and it was a great street setup. You couldn't tell there was a cam in it. It was that stealth.
