Lq9 rod bolts are safe???
i tried to find an answer to this question using the search but specific answer was find.
The 05 lq9 factory rod bolt ,how strong are they to spin to 6800 to 7000 rpms? The factory rod bolt can handle like 600hp?
You think is a good idea to change them for a set of arp?
I going to use the factory lq9 internals with a set of ported 799 and MS3 with auto trans and 175 shot.

Yes , and to do it right to be safe to those rpm's You should buy a rod bolt stretch gauge and follow ARP's instructions and bring rods to the machine shop and have them sized . Or better yet buy some Scat rods and not have to worry at all turning those rpm's to 7000 . Good luck

The newer LQ engines can handle quite a bit of rpm for a long time. I did a ton of LQ9 swaps last year since it's the most budget friendly fix for a blown 346 motor, and a lot of those guys are spinning to 6800-7000. I haven't heard of one letting go yet.
If the engine is out, it's never a "bad" idea to install ARP rod bolts if budget allows.

if it were me id do the KATECH ones cause from what i here about the ARPs is that there alittle longer and weight more. the KATECH ones are the same weight as the stock ones and there the same lenght as the stock ones. and it says right in the box from ARP that you should have the rods resized IIRC.

if it was me I wouldn't waste the money or time on bolts it seems they go either way with rpm's. In fact I think they go faster after swap. Over 600,000 miles on LS motors ran very hard, half of miles between 430 and 470 rwhp and the other half of the miles at 527rwhp and 547 rwhp. Lighter or not bolt stretch still changes bearing pressure.
