If he keeps that small converter I wouldn't recommend larger than a 22x cam.

Stock 243s are good for around 17-23rwhp increase in most similar setups. Worth the money imo. Port them later and pick up another 20rwhp.

I think u should put some lt1 heads on it with a 80's pickup truck cam and replace ur back seat with 3 or 4 fat chicks, u would be a lot faster than me then. Yall quit giving him bad advice

I just put a 224r in my camaro with lt's, ls6 intake, 3.73's 2800 converter and I really like the combo. Nice sounding idle, makes a lot more power than stock but not too wild.

With an ls6 intake ported 243s 228r etc you would hit 400rwhp.

What is your exhaust setup?

Lol that's stock ls1 times.

That setup with a good converter should run mid 11s@116+mph.
