The only thing I ever heard was that with lift over .600" and stock rockers you could experience increase valve tip, and guide wear.

I don't know that much about the previously discussed issues but I do know that the stock LS1 timing chain has been upgraded to the LS2 chain so unless You bought an aftermarket chain that was old stock You should be fine .

How do I tell if I got an ls1 or an ls2 chain? It is an aftmarket chain and it was only like 10 bucks

Should have a part number I'm assuming...right?


The LS2 chain, from what I understand, is the new standard replacement for the LS1. Someome please correct me if I'm mistaken. I believe the LS2 chain is $30 or so.

The ls2 chain works with the stock gears but is noticeably beefier. Is that a
word ? The links are larger and more heavy duty....lotz more good'r

half *** it now will cost you twice down the road .sorry ,but listen to Pred-Z and do it right the first time.he knows more about valve train then 99.99 % of the people on this world.I truly think he is a ET.
