347 rotating assembly help
I am building my motor for about 25lbs of boost
, im wanting to go with a callies stock stroke crank 2" journal, callies i-beam rods, diamond custom pistons and hell fire rings, the bore will be 3.905, some sponser deals and help would be appreciated

if im not mistaken the I-beam rods are right for my setup considering for lots of boost ,you want as lightweight as possible roating mass thats the reason for the smaller journal crank from what i understand ,sponsers can chime in at anytime

For 25psi, you'll definitely want some nice rods. Not $300-400 Eagle's/Scat. Thats a LOT of boost. Seems like you have a nice crank picked out. I would go with a 6 bolt style head/block at that level.. $$$
I would check with HKE, VA Speed or some of the other places here that build high end motors after the Holiday weekend.

steve01ss thanks man yea i am definitely trying to do it right

, I got the block o-ringed and the heads reciever grooved and going with arp head studs, i think it will be good with 4 bolts, i guess time will tell

, mark im hoping some sponsers will chime in on the rod situation and kinda give me the ins and outs on the H-beam and I-beam for my setup,im in the market for these parts, and thanks guys for all the help keep it coming

Since you're planning on cramming 25psi down its throat, you probably shouldn't worry so much about the weight and focus more on the strength.

oh no doubt at all. i'm not sayin it won't work, i'm sayin the aluminum block won't last as long as iron, iron is stronger than aluminum . . . not many people want to rebuild the same thing twice because of a poor choice
A lot of good points being made, hope you'll consider them. 25# is a LOT of boost... With that much boost, you won't be turning too many RPM's. As KCS said, build for strength! Forget the 2" journals, bigger is better in your case. If you're determined to stay with 4 bolt heads, at least upgrade to 1/2" studs. I run 23# on my GN powered S-10 on a that motor was designed for boost and it's not something you do lightly. On an engine designed for zero boost, you'll really need to do your homework.

Check us out for that rotating assembly! We can get you setup with the Callies crank, Callies H-beams (or I-beams for a little more $$), Wiseco pistons, bearings and balanced all for about $2600!

thanks for stepping up to the plate matt

im willing to spend the little extra money now to make it right with the i-beams.Why is everyone saying h-beams are bettter is what i cant figure out,the true i-beams are rated for 600 more horespower

whats up on the custom diamond pistons?

whats up on the custom diamond pistons? I'd go custom Wiseco before a custom Diamond if you're just wanting extra coatings and such on your pistons. We've had more success on the boost combos with the Wiseco pistons than we have with Diamonds.
