I would like to know as well. It looks to me like 1/2", but I dont quite understand how it works. It's milled flat on one side for a reason, but why?

I could make a set for $5...but I dont know what size the rod is or how importsnt the dimensions are...

I think 3/8 shoud do if you use 1/2 I think you will need to grind a flat spot down it to clear as you install then roll about 90 deg I used i/4 but AFTER was told that lifter may slip by the 1/4 rod next time will use 3/8 with velco strip down the rod

5/16" is a perfect fit. I polished mine down with fine emery cloth so it slides in smooth. I put some assembly lube on it as well, that helps.. The way it holds the lifter becomes obvious when you look down that hole -- the notch in the lifter body lines up perfectly with that hole, so when you slide the rods in you are very effectively locking the lifters in place.

OK brains, thks man,cut a couple 5/16" rods about 18 inches and cam install will be bumpless, till you turn the key.
