hi everyone first off id like to say this is my first build so any help i can get would be very helpful my car is a 1988 iroc-z was mostly stock made it to 220,000 miles and the motor/trans was pretty much shot and the fuel pump went up so i thought id strip it and redo the whole thing so far i have a 6.0 lq9 pushed out to a 408 stroker 4" stroke eagle crank and rods diamond low compression went with the l92 oil pan for now im using a 350 turbo trans. im looking for a good set of heads to use for a high hp turbo set up that wont brake the bank

whats high hp to you? 317 heads will hold a good amount of power but something like an afr 225 would be better. I would also look into having them o-ringed.

Yes. Its common for people doing boost type builds for take these extra measures so that you don't have big problems later. Not really such a thing as a budget turbo build. I have had several IROCs and love the way they look so much better than newer Camaros. I think a turbo Iroc would be sick but don't skimp on the build or it will end blowing up on the test run or not making any real power. A race shop that can do dyno pull tunes is almost a must. Guys just doing bolt on turbos without help always end up not turning out so well.

I'd go with a set of stock 317 heads with a good set of dual valve springs. Maybe some mild port work, I wouldn't worry about a stage 2 or 3 head. I make 640rwhp thru a set of stock 241 heads on a stock short block and 11psi. LS heads flow really well for stock heads, better than just about anything else.
