LS3 vs Dart Pro1 Ls1 Heads?
So I've got a a LQ9 402ci with a gt4508r. The motor is in a 2001 truck with the truck intake. The heads that are on it now are the Pro1 225 2.05 with 63cc. I also have a set of LS3 heads sitting here. Would I gain anything from going from the LS1 setup to a LS3 head with the L92 truck intake? Doing that it would require Valve springs and whatever else. So say I did 1k worth of work to the LS3 heads. Would they be better than the Pro1's? What Intake and TB would I need for a cable TB? Would the fuel rails and everything work? Thanks for any input.

Keep in mind too that if you go with the LS3 heads, you need a cam spec'd for their characteristics. They are lift limited because of the huge valves, but they flow better than a lot of aftermarket heads too. There are plenty of 6.0L guys out there making big power with them, even using relatively small cams.

Put some double springs on the ls3 heads, use the truck intake and you will be great...no need to do any porting with that setup. You will make more power that way for sure.

I did have some CNC LS6 heads 64cc with a 92/90 on a 408 made 455/455 but fuel pump started to choke. I went to the LS3 with ported LS3 int and same cam, went 495/477. It's hard to say cost vs gain of L92s. Remember, you need rockers & int to convert. All depends on what your goals are and pocket can afford. I didn't want to second guess and think later down the road say damn I should've just done the L92s.
