Default Best rotating assembly?

I have a bottom end Knock and I had it looked at and was told its a rod. So i plan on turning it into a 383. My goal is 500rwhp. So what assembly should I get to hold up to that. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you planning for any nitrous or forced induction? A well built 383 with a good h/c setup can easily achieve over 500rwhp and put down some good torque numbers. Diamond or Wiseco pistons are a common choice along with callies rods. Most people use the callies crank but lots have success with Manley cranks too.

I plan to go NA. I was looking at speed incs rotating assemblies and they seem great. Callies crank, eagle rods, diamond piston. For 2300 but they seem to only make them for lsx blocks. It says to email if u want a different combanation.

Just really make sure cause plans always change. 500 is a nice goal but once achieved it may get boring. TSP has some pretty good rotating assemblies.

Iv looked at theirs but they start out cheap and costs more money to add things like diamond piston and stuff

Well my motto is spend the money to do it right the first time and you won't have to double spend in the end.

If you're going to stay NA then you can save money and weight with Mahle pistons.
K1 cranks and rods are affordable and supposedly pretty decent pieces.

That's what I always say to. I think Il call or email speed inc see if they can put me together a 383 rotating assembly. Should be even cheaper since its a small block assembly for ls1

I went with the best I could get,, Callies crank, and rods with the arp 2000 bolts, Wiseco piston set. King allecular pro bearings. I could not say enough about how great the parts went together, they measured and weighed exact within each other. And the quality was absolutely perfect.

You might get lucky and call Katech. They had some old Cola cranks sitting around that they were trying to get rid of. Perhaps the best crank there is. I have in my 427ci.

See if they still have some. Manley rods and Wiseco pistons are a good choice.

I just picked up a K1 Technologies 4" crank and 6.125" rods here in Aus cheaper than I could get them landed from the US.

I chose K1 over the other brands available here in Aus because the quality was extremely good and the price was reflective of the current Aus dollar and comparable to the US retail price. Unfortunately most of the rotating assemblies sold here in Aus are often over double the price of the US retail price.

Strangely I can buy Yella Terra roller rockers delivered cheaper from the US than I can buy them in Aus.

I have done a lot of K1 research on many forums and I could not find any bad reports about them. The quality appears comparable to Callies and looks near on identical to Manley although K1 has been doing LS rotating assemblies longer than Manley and therefore will have a few more runs on the board and success stories.

I think that most of the cranks and rods available are very similar but some have a few more runs on the board than others and some make large horsepower claims and others choose not to. Buy what you can afford but make sure the products are comparable in quality to other brands (Compare apples with apples) and shop around for prices.

Cheers
Gouldy

Never heard of k1 or cola cranks. I always thought diamond pistons were best.

I think when you compare our rotating assemblies to other and make it an apples to apples comparison with the same components and balancing, our pricing is VERY competitive

Let us know if we can help!

I've always been on the fence about weather or not to pay for the balancing from you guys or to have the builder do it.

Can you give us some details on this process?

Also for the record TSP does have excellent pricing on the assemblies i've seen.

Are the piston and rods the same between a 347 and 383?

I have a forged 347 that is knocking a rod and was thinking i could just put the larger crank in if the pistons and rods dont need to be changed as they are in good shape.

sorry for the

My tsp stroker kit should be waiting for me when I get hoe today tsp is a bit cheaper ($100 or so) for coparable brands. Also, they offer a better variety of pistons and cranks to upgrade/ downgrade so you can build what you want vs what they want to sale you. My old set-up was a 463hp car with all tsp parts to make it happen. I believe in staying loyal to a company and brand that doesn't let me down. Try to find that out soon because rotating assemblies are not something I'd want to chance.
