Default Tune and Injector question

I will be installing a TSP 228R (228 /228 588/588) cam and a set of PRC LS6 Stage 1 heads on my 1999 Corvette. The car already has long tube headers, LS6 manifold and a Vararam. Its a 6 speed manual.

Will I need to replace the injectors? If so, whats the recommendation?
Will I be able to drive it without a tune? (Just to get to the place to tune it, its about 50 miles)

Thanks!

You'll need more fuel, so yes.

You need to tune the injectors first you drive it... you can drive your car to the tuner's place and swap the injectors at their place.

This is the Internal Engine forum.

"Internal" does not mean "under the hood."

He is adding heads-that is an internal mod along with the cam.

Yes you will need injectors. Your tuner should give you ideas. I like the white plastic Boschs from the SC GMs-identical to the ones on your car now sans the color and can support 500 easy. Hard to say if it will be driveable with them on-why not get a mail in tune from Frost so car is driveable till a real tune? The other good idea is driving it with theold injectors(car may stall out though)on like mentioned.

By that measure, everything from tires to gears to clutches becomes Internal Engine material when mentioned in the context of a head/cam swap?

So what exactly is a heads and cam swap?

Is this like when my kids ask "Why is the sky blue?"

Its exactly like that, but different.
I guess that would clearly fall under external mods.
