Default Dart Pros vs Ported 243s..Cam choices?

I had a lifter fail tonight, somehow broke the plastic retainer for the lifters and spun, cam is junk and while the heads are off..thought about porting my 243s..But I know a guy that has a set of Dart Pros..not sure what ones. Thinkin about a custom cam and more nitrous, The car ran great with just the MS4..anyway thoughts on heads..Sucks but its gotta be fixed...so like most fixes going to add a few more go fast parts lol

Id stick with the 243s over DART, I have read very very very little about people putting dart's on lsx and very few technical articles.

Send those 243s out to AI.

Since you have the 243s I would send them to TEA or a another killer company and get them worked. I would call Geoff at EPS for a cam. Talked to him about 30 minutes on the phone about my set up and goals and thats why I went with him and other guys cars putting same good numbers down with his cams, also agree on more nitrous

Did you go ahead and order your heads/cam? I was told that the Dart Heads flow about the same as a ported set of 243s?? IDK This is out of my area, but I read a lot of negitive things on Dart products. And if thats true..I could port the darts later and have a great set of heads. Idk Im still in the air, Iv only got about 4 weeks till Bowling Green and weve already paid to be there..its getting fixed lol

I would just have a good company work your 243's. I havent seen anyone do much or make good power with the darts. The only thing I have heard is when they have them worked by someone and not used as cast/cnc'd from dart.

Ask the head porting company that you decide to go with if they have a specific program for Dart 205's. The results from as-cast darts in lsx's are not spectacular, but any head in the hands of the correct porter will surely impress

We have programs for the Dart 205... but we still lean towards the 243 for any application looking for 450-500rwhp NA

They're hard to beat since they have the potential to make the typical 450-475rwhp goal w/ a daily drivable setup without any of the draw backs of an aftermarket casting based head.

Thanks for the kind words!
