Default LG G5X3 Cam question

I have heard that the G5X3 isn't always the best cam for the 1/4th mile because of the high RPM range. I was wondering if it would be more suited towards road racing since LG Motorsports seems to specialize in that area. BTW I have 4.10 gears.

Also it's the 114 degree lobe separation version with the .600/.610" lift. Does anyone know the duration of the cam?

Thanks.

Why not think about a 112? It'll bring the power band a tad lower.

Yes, go 4000. I think a 4k converter should be the standard for most converters since the cams are jsut getting bigger and bigger with the advancement in tuning technology. 3200 will be a sloth with that cam, considering that it may not even flash that high.

I ran that cam for 2 years on a 112 LSA. It's a good cam and pulls hard up top, but you will find more reviews on the corvette boards. LG is big over there.

A MS3 is very similar. 237/242, slightly larger on the intake. Look at what people tell you about the MS3 since it is pretty popular and similar.

I wouldn't call MS3's and G5X3's similar. MS3's are dogs down under but due to the G5X3's VE's the DCR and SCR are higher and have better under the curve mannerisms.
