Soooo I pulled my passenger head.....
Dude I hate to tell you but that's more than carbon build up. Good luck with it and keep us updated. It looks like the ring is probably toast too which I would guess is where the scratches came from.
Those holes in the piston are intentional, its a budget way of lowering compression to be able to run more boost. Its actually a great idea, I suggest drilling them out bigger though.
itsslow98.....................are you for real because I hope not. Read the thread their not holes its coolant, just a weird angle. Thats not how piston companies lower compression.
Those rings are damaged. Rehone, new rings, and check the ring groove for any kind of burring or galling.. I have seen brand new pistons with all kinds of **** in the ring grooves.
