used timing chain is a big no no, I would replace it with A ls2 set if money was the issue.

Update: I got a new N-Motion single roller timing chain. Installed with no issues, Problem solved. Thanks for all the help everyone.

N-Motion and JP Performance are one in the same. I think the used set you had was FUBAR and I would try to get your money back.

Had it before, on the early engines there is excessive casting on the crankshaft near where the lower sprocket goes on, this casting actually holds the chain off the sprocket. Inspect the crank and you may even see a mark where the chain was contacting it. Mask the front of the engine up and give the crank a touch up with a die grinder.

Did not know that... I did send the seller a link to this thread and offered to sell the set back to him since it worked ok for him but I doubt he takes the offer. I did buy it several months ago so I'm not pissed if he doesn't reply.

I already got a new chain and it works fine. I will consider this if I have issues in the future though.
