Cam Buying Dilemna
Ok if you didnt know already, my car is an 01 Trans am that someone swapped a 5.3 in, Im not sure if it was bored out or what but it runs pretty damn good to be a 5.3, really dont see a difference from it and a ls1....Has the ls6 intake, 3k stall, 28lb injectors, longtube headers, ory, runs just as good as any other ls1 if not better! just doesnt have alot of topend power....everyone i talk to recommends against a 228r cam from texas speed. So what do you guys think about this??? they say this cam would be a lil too big in a 5.3

The MS3 is WAY too big for a daily driven 5.3L Camaro! You just don't have the compression or cubes to run that one.
I'd tend to want to run a low 220º intake duration for this one, depending on stall speed, gear, bolt-ons, etc!

You should probably start your on thread or do a search if you have questions that are going to require in depth answers instead of cluttering the OP's thread. Also, you do realize you can't use ls3 heads on your ls1 unless you have it bored out to at least 4"?
To the OP: MS3 is definitely too big and a 228 is on the very edge of what one would consider doable with a 5.3L DD. I would listen to the guys at texas speed. They know what they are talking about.

As stated, the LS3 heads will not work on an LS1 short-block. They require a 4.0" bore or larger!
