Finding #1 tdc to "set" the valves?

Look at the picture ... see the dot at 12 o'clock on both sprockets? Also, the crank key is at the 1:30 o'clock position as the text describes. According to the text and diagram, this is the position of the cam and crankshaft when Cyl #1 is at TDC on the compression stroke.

And if you then put both the crank and cam sprocket with the dot at 12 o'clock as the pictures shows in the Service Manual, then the cam & valves will be in time with the pistons just like the manual says they should be.
