Default switching from Lunati 395 to a 434

Hey guys, I am thinking about adding a resleeved block and upgrading from my Lunati 396 to a 434cid motor.

Besides the resleeved block, I know I will need pistons for the bigger bore and do more headwork (bigger valves).

Will I need anything else?

well besides the machine work, an ARE sleeved block is $2000 and comes with a warranty. Add to that a few hundred bucks for pistons.

Rings, bearings, balancing, camshaft?? bigger, injectors?, programing, oilpump, recc. opening up the heads for the bigger bore and possibly port volume increase depending on where you are at with the current heads.

Sounds like it would be better to first sell the 396 and then go for the 434. What is your current compression ratio with the 396?

Compression ratio is 11:1 right now I think.

I already have a cam big enough for the 434. 244 250 duration. I am about to open up the cylinder heads also with bigger valves.

Injectors and oil pump should be good because I am already making around 500rwhp w/o any issues. I want to make close to 550.

So sounds like pistons, rigns, bearings, balancing and machine work.

I will talk to my engine builder and see what he says.

Ya I am already going to have bigger vavles put in my heads.

These days, many tuners are putting in 2.055 or 2.08 intake valves even on stock bore cars.

*Edited By Big Mike** Nick, Please understand that as a Non-Sponsor, you cannot post prices here. Thank you...

We hope to be a sponsor soon again and would do a gp on them no problem. hopefully we can resolve things soon and begin to advertise as a vendor here

No problem Mike, someone quoted a price on our resleeved block and it was wrong, I was just correcting the inaccurate information Am I aloud to correct wrong information?, send me a note what I can and can't do. I am sure other vedors would rather see a non sponsors pricing be corrected to a higher amount Better for them.

I didn't post the pricing just trying to correct, sorry as I must have offended someone; non intended

Not sure I can post this information (no pricing though )

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

do they come with a warranty if I purchase the block only?

ttt

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our resleeved blocks do come with a warranty even if they are purchased as a block only sale. If we assemble install and tune the warranty is 2 year/24,000, if the block is sold outright only there is a limmited 1 year 12,000 from dropped sleeves or water leakage. This warranty is void if there are any signs overheating or extreme detonation. Blown headgaskets and water entering the cylinder causing a hydraulic situation would also void warranty. There have been a few issues with these engines way back and have warrantied all to the customers satisfaction.

With the process we use it is virtually impossible to drop a sleeve or have a water leak.

We will be having a special in the next week or so as soon as the next batch of sleeves arrive at the shop, we also have blocks in stock and can sell them outright with no core needed

We had a few N2o misshaps over the years and replacing sleeves in a hole hear and there is not a problem either, just not under warranty . We do help out our customers with special pricing in these kind of situations

Part of our warranty would deffinately include working with the engine assembler as well as the installer, we want to give as much support to the builder and installer as possible as we all know how miscommunication can cause problems

I don't think anyone can afford to warrante anything due to miscommunication We are commited to supporting all our products

Have you already upgraded your intake/throttle body or are you making due with stockers now?
