Easily. I have hit a best 1.62 with my 2800 converter. You can get into the 1.5s for sure.

Gearing is pretty similar on both combos:
2.74 times 3.90 = 10.686
3.06 times 3.42 = 10.465
the difference in converter slippage probably equals out the initial hit, but
the Chevelle just needs some ***-squat to plant the hides.
Good job on hittin' the elevens already....

I'm getting some comments that tire pressure seems low. I based it off MT recommended range on their website but others say they have had good luck in heavy cars with a little more air than recommended.

The faster guys I know (7-9 second quarter mile) run 14-15 pounds in their M/T 275 radials. Most slower guys (10 seconds and slower) run 15-20 pounds in full weight cars. I run 18-20 pounds in M/T 275 radials.

Good to know. My previous best pass (both 1/4 and 60ft) was at 16#. My previous best 60ft was at just over 14#.

I might need to venture back that direction.

Finally made a video. Car is dirty and camera isn't the best but you get the idea.

EPS 230/238 .600/.615 113+2
slight hand ported 799s
Dougs 1 3/4" headers
Flowtech Terminator 3" duals
900rpm warm idle
tuned by me (first tune ever)

New best so far is 11.92@112 MPH 1.6960ft, 7.52@92mph 1/8th

I'm going to see if a 26" tire helps much instead of a 28"

Sweet music!
The audio is good, and the video isn't to bad(good resolution), it's just a bit dark.

Nice! Sounds like you got the idle tuned pretty well. Good work.

Yeah it was dusk and I was losing daylight quick. I tried to take one the other day but I left the memory card at home.

I'll get a daylight video soon.

I might try to drop the Park/Neutral idle some more but I don't know how much patience I will have for messing with it just for the sake of sound. It has a fairly healthy thump when in gear sitting at lights, it's enough to shake the car pretty good haha.
