a little extra power out of an LQ4...
I'm looking for a little extra power out of an LQ4...
I have a stock lQ4, 317 heads, 4l80e trans going in a 1965 olds 88 coupe. Looking for a little extra power and TQ. I'll be using the stock truck intake, I had in mind LT headers, cam and springs, and a computer tune. And prob a lower profile oil pan...I'm a bit of a newbie so please bear with me...My question is what cam to use? Also who makes a good low pro oil pan cause the truck one looks very deep and dont think it's going to work in the Olds...
any help is appreciated...

don't take this as me being a jerk, but you need to spend some time lurking and using the search button. the conversions and hybrids section should help you with the oil pan question and other how do I make it fit questions. and your already in the right place to learn about cams. I can tell you for a cam in a heavy car with the stock truck intake you'll be better off with something somewhat small probably in the 220-228* range.

consider a comp cam 54-455-11,if you are using a mild stall .look at a oil pan from a ls1 .what stall converter and gears will you be using ?also look at a TSP 224r cam pkg or a tr224 cam from thunder racing.
