New Motor!!
Ok so I picked up a new to me motor, just checking out what some ideas are to do to it before I put it in. Dont want to spend alot of money thats why I bought used but may consider it. Ive searched but opinions vary so much just need some fresh suggestions.
90k 2000 LS1
Current Mods on motor (500 miles):
Comp 228/228 114
Comp Hardened Pushrods
Patriot Dual Valvesprings
Ls6 Ported Oil Pump
Ls2 Timing Chain
Rear Cover Gasket
Front Cover Gasket
Rear Main Seal
Headgaskets
Headbolts
Everything else is stock.
Upgrades Ive done as of now:
Ls6 Intake w gaskets
Valve Cover Gaskets
Ls6 Valley Cover Kit
Knock Sensors
Oil Pressure Sending Unit
Oil Pan Gasket
New Waterpump
ARP Flywheel bolts
Header Gaskets
So anything else I should do? Was thinking katech rod bolts and I guess ill need a new o ring for the oil pickup tube...

Ok I found out what the girdles about... Any other ideas? Preciate that one parks!
And I dont think I wanna drop the cash on the 243s. Id wanna get a valve job then and need new head gaskets and headbolts so thatd be a little out of my budget right now. The sodium filled valves and extra flow would be nice tho

They put new headgaskets on not too long ago so they replaced rhe headbolts with factory ones. Thats why i didnt wanna mess with the heads really, and would do the bolts but no reason to just replace the bolts ha

I guess I'm the outsider here - I wouldn't do anything. Put it in and go. Stock - the bottom end of these things is rarely the problem. The only part with a finite lifespan is the valve springs. If they're really only 500 miles old then it sounds pretty solid. Looks like the previous owner threw a bunch of money at it before you bought it. Nice find!

Nice, well since I have to take the oil pan off ill do the girdle and put a new blue o ring on. Still up in the air about the rod bolts. Seems like either a hit or miss on if youll have a problem or not.

Decided not to do the rod bolt as I hardly ever even take it near redline and dont want to risk anything. Any other ideas based on my combo? Shooting for over 400rwhp if possible... Is that accurate?
