Default problem with the engine

Hey guys I have a problem with my S-10 ls1 swap
first of all when we finished the swap and hooked up all the wires and started the engine, pretty soon it stalled for no clear reason.
we disassembled the engine to see that the crankshaft is bent at the front and damaged the oil pump.
after we replaced the parts and assembled the engine, we started the engine which cranked for about 10 seconds.
when we tried to get it started again it would barely start and when we checked the spark plugs, we found that they are covered in carbon.
we replaced them but still the engine wouldnt fire.

How did the crankshaft get bent...?

How do you know the rest of the crank (and the reluctor) are not damaged or out-of-spec...?

What size cam and that might be why depending on size. I swapped my 853 heads for fresh 241's and a 227/224 cam. I had to feather the gas pedal for the first 5 or so minutes to keep it alive and it was on a the stock tune
