MS4 cam. What heads?
MS4 cam. What heads? I bought an A4 98 camaro a month ago. Going to do a winter project. My goal is with a good motor combination and a good suspension setup to hit 10's NA. I love the MS4 cam and was thinkin about running it, but what heads to go with? I will have long tubes and true dual flowmasters on the car Why flowmasters? bc i love the sound. Will probably run a fast intake and throttle body set up. and will probably run a yank 4000 stall. What kind of setup would be best? I have talked to Jake at TSP, Awesome guy and great customer service. He was thinkin their 227 PRC heads and the ms4 cam should get me deep into the 11's. TSP will be getting a lot of business from me in the next couple of weeks. Any input would be great! Thanks!

Not to hijack your thread but was there a difference in sound with the dynomax bullet added to your Lm exhaust? By the way i just read an article about the the 227prc heads on a 408 compared to a list/host of other heads an they flow much more then i ever expected. TSP knows what they are doing.
I've got an MS4 with LT headers and true duals with Flowmaster mufflers... Also have a Yank PT4000 and a FAST 92mm intake. I'm running the PRC 2.5 5.3L heads milled to 59cc and have gone high 10s full weight, which is your goal.

For the best performance it'd be our aftermarket casting PRC 227cc heads.

For a bit more budget friendly head, but at the expense of some of that power, I'd recommend the PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads.

Either will be setup to clear on a stock LS1 short-block without having to flycut your pistons!

Katech rods, you can just drop the pan, i would go with the prc 227, 10s NA full weight your going to need the best heads IMO, for sure a fast setup, and i hope your exhaust is a true dual set up, listen the ms4 is a badass cam but needs Max effort parts to make it a runner, its not a budget way of doing it but for your goals prc 227 and the ms4 is a good start.so many bash the Ms cams, that is mainly because no one ever gets the full potential out of them.also i would for sure go with the chris1313, and 1 7/8 longtubes.the ms4 can be a strong cam but is only as good as the rest of the parts. I run a ms4 in my car and im planning out some lil tricks that should show how this cam does in the right setup

The 227s and the MS4 make for a very stout combo! How high you need to spin it to have the best on track performance will differ depending on the entire setup of the car and what it likes best. Just FYI Ive spun stock bottom end short blocks to well beyond 7000rpm without issue, I do recommend upgrading the rod bolts if you plan to make a habit of it.
I used the 2.5 5.3 heads at 58 cc's. Ran good but never perfect because the engine hammered its self to death before I could get all the bugs worked out. Different unrelated story.
