why people love to hate the hotcam

A lot of great information about camshafts in this thread!
One question I have is why no one has mentioned anything on the '01 LS6 cam?
Anyone familiar with this one?
I'm also looking for "just a little more" cam in my WS6.

An '02 LS6 cam would give you a little more but it would all be on the top end of the power band, above 4000 rpm. The cams we have been talking about, the Hotcam and the 216/220 cam, ect.. will make significantly more torque on the lower end of the rpm band than the LS6 cam. The LS6 cam will idle like stock because, well it is stock. The larger after market cams will give you more (as much as you want depending on duration and lsa) lope/chop/rumpety-rump.
The LS6 cam is cheap and a good stealth cam but very mild.
Good luck. Lots of good info here. I've been enjoying this one.

The hot cam makes your shifter look like a sex toy also make sure your exhaust is good and tight !!! Anyway , anyone ever spray a 100 shot with the hotcam forget changing cams I'm thinking nitrous..
