green o-ring too tight?
green o-ring too tight? i used the green o-ring on a new melling 10296 for my ls1. the pickup tube needs to go up a little further but the o-ring seems tight. i might be able to get the bolt on there and tighten it down to force the tube into place. should i try to tighten it down or remove the green o-ring and replace it with the black one which is thinner?

Just wanted to add this and note that many people simply bolt up the pump, leaving the bolts untightened. Then mount the pickup tube with o-ring and tighten that. Then, go back to the pump bolts and tighten.

Verdad Gallardo Melling has us using the black one for the tube without the flare (not me).
I don't have the truck motor, but I'll tell you, that green one seems way too tight for my application.
Upon further inspection, my old blue one is just a bit thinner than the green one, and I'm going to use it (blue one).
