Default give me your opinions and suggestions on cam choice.

I've been tossing cams around in my head for a while now. I have a ls1 in a truck that weighs 3800. A4. this is my dd. Looking to get tsp stage 2.5 5.3 heads. I want lots of bottom and mid with minimal to no top loss. I love a big or choppy idle. I've wanted a ms3 or 233/239 but was told that's a lil big. So tell me what y'all think. Btw. The meet at efi alchemy was nice yesterday. It was nicw to meet members of rcp. Great ppl. Hope to cruise with ya soon

MS3 seems to stout for a daily driver truck. I'm guessing "minimal to no top loss" is a in comparison to the stock LS1 grind. What supporting mods do you have or willing to get? Will the truck see track time? Definetly going to need gears and a higher stall converter.

Nobody can make an intelligent answer without more info. What's the gearing in the truck? Converter rpm? Shift rpm? Intake setup?

The weight of the truck is not a factor. It's about the same as an F-car. Looks like you got the supporting mods worked out. Hard now to argue about your choice though personally I would like to see a cam with more torque production than horsepower mainly because it's a truck. That's just me though. I build trucks to do truck duties. Other's like the sports truck theme where they are driven more like high performance cars.

Mine is a sports truck. Its the tacoma xrunner. My build is on here. "Ls1 xrunner" I want a lot of power down low and mid. That is where it will be most of the time while I'm driving. I will see the track maybe 10 times a year MAX. This is my " hotrod" I have another truck for "teuck duties"

You don't really NEED low end with a 3800 converter. Strong midrange is nice when you are moving 3800 lbs though. MS3 would not work great with this combo.
