ms3 or ms4 to go best with 243's

Default ms3 or ms4 to go best with 243's

ive got 243's now to choose a cam. thinking ms3 or 4. what would give me better results between the 2 cams with the 243 heads. the ls1 already has every supporting mod/bolt on and then some to go with the h/c combo. just lookin for opinions.

If your running an auto i say ms4 and if standard i would go with the ms3..

imo expand your search , listen ms3,4 are great cams but to pick one or the other is kinda dumb imo , i would pick the cam that goes best with your setup, and also what you use the car for, imo maybe even a custom cam would be a good idea, what is your setup now?

IMO, the Magic Sticks are a tad too much cam for 243s. I'm no expert, but I do know that you need to consider how much the intake and exhaust ports will flow, and what cam would be best suited to them for your application. Don't limit yourself to one of those two cams.

Rather than pick cams you like and see if they fit your application, why not consider what you need, then when you know roughly what specs will suit your build well, try to find a cam that comes close, if not get a custom cam ground?

I'll be running an MS3, Fast 92, 92mm throttle body with 243's. The only modification to the heads is a 5 angle valve job. I'm still a little concerned my heads will be my weak spot.

Just from experience and installing 25-30 of these cams over the years. It's JMO. If it was me there wouldn't even be a ms anything in the equation. it would be a g5x3.

the car is only driven on the weekends, so drivability doesn't really mater. its takin to the track, every now and then. so a custom grind mite be my choice. my mechanic that i take the car to has done some awesome work with my friends 02 ss. cam intake full exhaust and tune, stock heads and hes seeing just over 400hp at the crank, and hes running a custom grind.

^ i agree,very poor numbers,i would get a new mechanic asap! my ms4,bolt on car was making more than that at the rear,ws6, i dont care if you put in 100 ms cams, this just goes back to my point that so many get ms cams and never use it to its full potential,auto or m6 doesnt really matter if the car is not setup for crap,.i still stand that was dumb to say, the ms cams have gotten such a bad name because of people loving the idle on a youtube clip and getting one based on that.
