98 z28 camaro keeps dying!
Sorry if this is in the wrong plAce but advice is greatly needed!! I have had the battery and alternator checked from 2 different autozones and they said they were both fine. When it first started acting up it would die and slowly crank back up and start idling real high and low and high and out of control u til I turn it off and off a few times. I went to Mathis and they tried to say it was an issue with the erg valve and that I just needed a new one. I've read all over the Internet and couldn't find anything about am egr valve causing the car to die. It will sometimes crank back up with a jump off then will idle out of control. It's a whole rebuilt camaro... I've even had a ground wire cause the car to die everytime the auto lights on but got that fixed. What could it be??? Please help!

EGR valves on these cars don't cause problems like older vehicles.
I'd check the obvious stuff first. My first guess would be the fuel pump, so go rent a fuel pressure gauge from Autozone and stick it on the rail. If you're getting anything below 50psi then you've probably got a weak/dying fuel pump.

I had a similar problem. Fuel pressure was about 25lbs below normal and had to be replaced. Cost $1150 at GM dealer. At least it runs normal now and parts/labor has a LifeTime Warranty.
