Default Forged 383 Build List, Suggestions Welcome

Here is a working copy of my engine build list, including all tooling and instrumentation necessary to do the assembly myself.

I know it would be cheaper to buy an already assembled engine, that's not the point of this project. The point of this is to have fun and learn a new hobby.

I'm not looking to boost or spray this engine, I just wanted a powerful and reliable truck engine.

Any recommendations / suggestions are welcome, thanks for looking!

Skip the adjustable band style ring compressor and get a quality specific bore size tapered ring compressor from ARP or the like. they are WELL worth the money. I would also pick up a quart of ATF to wipe the cylinder walls down with and to put a light coating on the piston skirts & rings before assembly.

Assuming you have a set of feeler gauges in your tool box already? Looks like you didn't choose to have the machine shop pin fit the pistons? Are you going to verify pin clearance? If so you'll need a 0-1" OD mic and 0-1" bore gage. Wiseco's are usually around .0006-.0008" pin clearance out of the box which is appropriate for a sub 600hp setup but anything above that and I like to see closer to .0009-.001".

already have the feeler gauge set, will add to the spreadsheet.

Another thing:

balancer pulley - was going to re-use the one from the LM7, suggestions on this are welcome also.
