Default Cam pitting - Would you run this?

Purchased from a forum member. Waiting to see if he will make it right. Either way my car is apart and will be going back together with my old cam.

It's good for a paper weight, but that's all.

You might be able to get it reground, prob would have to be a lot to make up for pitting...anyone know if a reground is possible on this cam?

To me it looks like material was ADDED, not pitted or missing. Almost like it was welded on, and then filed down. I bet it's just the angle/lightining, but still looks Odd.

Looks like money is going to come back. Seller was quick to respond which is good. Real inconvinience though. I guess the moral of todays story is check your parts before tearing the car apart. Anybody near OKC with a cam for sale?

It would be greatly appreciated if you would name the seller so we all know who to avoid.
Selling a cam in that condition as anything but a "re-grindable core" is fraud in my book!

I'll name the seller...because it was me. Facts are I sold the cam for a friend and he shipped it. He never noticed the cam pitting, just pulled from a running motor, put in a bag, and then padded in a box. Refund is being issued in FULL AMOUNT NO QUESTIONS ASKED because not only was I unaware of the damage, I was the middleman here and my buddy has no problem issuing a refund since he was also unaware of the damage. And I'm pretty sure I have plenty of feedback to not let this effect future sales. ANy other smartass comments can be kept to yourself. Thanks!

i dont think there are really any smart *** comments, yeah cam is bad, my number 1 rule is never buy used engine inter. its just something i dont do, cams are not that much to try and save a 100 bucks, unless its brand new its not worth it imo,not saying that there isnt any good parts out there but for me ill just pay new, whats 350 for a cam when it can do way more damage than that

I understand that I'm the same way, but like I said I understand the situation and in no shape, form, or fashion would have sent it had either one of us noticed the damage. That's why the refund will be issued and cam returned because that's not how I do business at all! I would expect the same if I was the buyer, but as we all no **** happens and we learn lessons lol. But the issue was resolved after the first PM telling me he receive the cam and sent me pics of the damage. I immediately told him I would issue the refund for it.
