Default Compression ratio

I have new heads on the way and I went with a 60 cc combustion chamber vice the 64cc for the stock LS6. How much is this going to increase the compression for me? I was also wanting to go with a slightly thinner head gasket as well, but I'm not sure how good of an idea that would be based on what that would do to the DCR and SCR, which even after reading about I don't really understand. TIA for any help.

you should bump at least .25-.5 on the conservative side with those chambers...also a thinner cometic gasket will get you higher...try using the summit racing compression calculator its nice so you dont have to think lol

Lol I like not having to think. If just those chambers on a 215cc head should do that then I won't bother with the thinner gasket. I'm more worried about the PTV with 233/239 cam with the thinner gasket as well. Lord knows I don't want to break the motor cause shipping to Hawaii is ridiculous enough as it is lol. Who knows, I will see once I get the heads in whether or not I want to go with the .035 or.040.

What heads are you talking about? Most aftermarket heads have more clearance than stock, so even milled 0.024", you should have room. Question is, are you going to measure?

I would not leave it to chance or popular opinion. A thinner gasket to give you quench distance of .035-.040 is ideal, but you should know you deck height to determine what gasket will give you that clearance.

I am talking about the PRC 215cc heads. Yes I fully intend to measure ptv. I am not leaving anythinglike that to chance. I don't have the money to rebuild right now.

What are you talking abou in quench? I dont really understand what I is,
