if ur running a6.0 cammed plz chime in
Dropped block off this evening at machine shop n after talking with the guy ive decided th just freshen up the stock bottom end instead of boring and use the $ elsewhere.
Im going to be running prc's stg1 243's, ls6 intake, long tubes.
Car is m6 w/4 4.10's out back. I alreadyhave a ms3 from my last build that went wrong lol im really wanting a diff cam just cant really decide.
Looking for an awsome street cam thats gonna be fun to play with on the road but still put down some decent #'s. I just really dont like the ms3 as a street car cam. Dont get me wrong its a beast but dead as 4 oclock until almost 3000 rpms.its great if u r running wide open all the time just missed that bottomend TQ
Im gonna get pat g. or pred to spec me out a cam just kinda wanna know what ppl think of diff. durations
Post up what ya got n how ya like it.

Im running a eps 230/238 .600/.604 112+2 love it for a daily driver cam, no surging at low rpm and it makes nice power (ls2, tea ported/milled 317's, 230/238 and a fast 102 made 463/434). A set of 2.5 ls6 heads for the extra 400 bucks from tsp would be worth buying, but if ur tight for money just let it hang on the stage 1's.

Your problem isn't the cam, it's your compression. Since it's at the machine shop, see if you can get a set of ls2/lq9 rods/pistons to throw in there. Or you can do what I did and mill those heads and flycut the lq4 pistons. even with those stg 1's you're barely at stock ls1 compression ratio. I milled a set of 799's .030 and still am only pushing 10.8:1 compression. My cam is an Xer lobe, but very similar to the MS3. Was running with a t56 and 4.11's in a 9", no complaints of no low end power here.

I was thinking somewhere in the low 230's. By dropping the duration n going with a lower lift cam if i mill my 317's n throw on my spring kit wouldnt i be in the same ball park #'s wise for pretty much only the cost of a cam? Way cheaper route. I could care less about these heads so milling them is fine by me just didnt want to order a $1500 set of heads n hack'm off limiting cams in the future

Well decided to go with the original plan of boring .040 and using a flat top piston. Still going the 243 route on the heads but keeping them stock for rite now inless something changes here soon. Gonna run the ms3 so hopefully with the combo of flat tops n 243 heads the ms3 wont be as dead down low compared to the stock ls1. If so anyone need a ms3 1000 miles on it? Lol.
Or still go smaller cam and mill heads with the above mentioned bottom end?
Tryin to stay budget concious but dont want any regrets once motor is in either.
If ur running a similar setup plz post up some numbers

Get ya some pistons with valve reliefs. Even if you don't need them with this h/c combo, who knows what the future holds. Would you rather be limited with your choice 2-4 years down the road, or would you like to use whatever cam and milled heads if you decided to change it up?
