does anyone local to me make a valve spring tool where it pushes down on the retainer?

I just used Larrys tool for the first time tonight and it rocks!! Worked awesome for me. I only wish the stud provided was a tad longer. Other than that no complaints.

 

I have larry's tool, a shop called me and asked if I knew of any tool local.

I just double checked and can't imaging the stud needing to be longer. I had plenty of thread sticking out past the nut on mine. Maybe your head is tapped deeper than most. You can just screw the stud in only 2 diameters verses all the way to bottom out and it will hold fine.
