On another note, how do you like your Monster Stg 3? (saw it in your sig)
I have a Monster stg2 package (with light flywheel, slave etc) sitting in my laundry room.
I was looking for something with better street manners than the 3, and i don't drag. This car will be putting down around 350-370rwhp i believe and will be a street/road course car.
Thoughts?

I am actually on my second monster level 3, first lasted around 12,000 miles. I measured it and it was out of spec so I bought a new disk. The only thing I dont like is the squealing I had going on, I am going to try not to slip it, just blip the throttle and go. It holds great, no chatter after its broke it.

From the looks of the prices it really should cost too much to rebuild. I still had decent oil pressure except at high rpms.
Since we are on machine shops. Does everyone have problems finding a good one. The first one I called told me he would call me with a quote. He never called, I called him again, he said he call me back with a quote, never happed.
Second machine shop wanted to basically put the whole engine together, which I didnt want, and also port my heads, which I didnt want.
3rd one, its been 2 wks since I dropped it off, no quote yet.

you guys are way the **** off with your prices. hell just price out a master rebuild kit and see what you get ($1,000-$1,700 for a "decent" kit) and that's not including the rods, machine work and labor. i think i saw someone say $700 bucks. how do you figure that. rods at the cheapest are $275, bearings are $150-$200, pistons and rings another $500 or so. what is a slave building the motor for free and getting whipped if he ***** up... come on now be realistic about prices. but hey you get what you pay for

I was quoted $2500-$3000 for a stock rebuild.... guessing it needed everything.(complete intake to pan)
I'll be there in a few weeks with a complete break-down.....and not gonna be stock.

Oh well, still decent prices i think.
As for parts breakdown, almost nothing on the engine is being re-used so it would be quite a list. What i brought the machine shop was basically just ARP head studs $283 (so they could torque plate it with what i'd be using), Mahle -4cc for 6.125 rods $565 and Scat 6.125 rods $284
