Fuel smell through ac vents

Fuel smell through ac vents Hey guys, I just bought a new trans am. I don't know much about the car no receipts and such but he gave me a mod list. It has a strong gassy smell coming through the vents when I turn the AC on. I understand that it will have a fuel smell out the exhuast due to the mods.. Any ideas?

about the only way to get a fuel smell through the vents is the fuel pressure regulator but typically theres a hard start concern along with it. pop the vaccuum line of the regulator and see if its pulling fuel through there

I don't have a hard start up but the idle is on the low side for a few seconds like it wants to turn off, but recovers quickly. Also it doesn't just do it after hard driving, smells from start up

Check pcv at the rear,check hvac vacuum line and also check evap system.Usually this problem stems from one or combination of these and when you turn on the ac/vent..the air inlet for the vents is picking up the fumes(at the firewall) and blows it into the compartment.the filters for the hvac arent made for fumes..just there to try to keep dust coming in and blowing in your face.
