Default Problems after replacing crank sensor

I just replaced my crankshaft position sensor Saturday, the car ran fine the rest of the weekend and then on my way to work this morning I was on the interstate and it starting losing power and spitting and sputtering and popping so I pulled over and turned it off, it'll still crank and sound like it idles alright but when I give it gas itll spit and pop and my rpm gauge doesn't work now, any suggestions? Did the parts house give me a bad sensor or jump time or what?

Why did you replace it in the first place? Was there originally a problem?

Where did you get new sensor? Don't get one at a cheap parts store like autozone or advanced auto bc they are total junk I worked at one before and we returned counts less crank and cam sensors bc they are reman (even though I don't understand how to reman a magnet lol) do yourself a favor and buy a factory one (either new or used) that might help you out...good luck man

It sounds to me like You may have not noticed a wire or 2 that may have rubbed something and caused some computer problem (gauge not working now) or maybe the crank relearn would fix it ,,,,,,,, I can't believe no codes ,,,,,,,,,maybe the next time it's driven and happens then codes would be stored.

Not surprising on the no codes. Mine did the samething. Half the time ran like a champ the other half just like you said.

My issue was a bad sensor and also needed a crank relearn. Anytime you have the sensor out even if you put the same sensor back in you need a crank relearn. (learned this all the hard way) any decent shop can do it in no time.

You could try to have it done with the sensor you have in now. If the shop says it cant be done Like it wont relearn you have a bad sensor.
