Default Is a .5 drop in compression noticable?

Im doing a 6.0 Iron swap and the engine was built with -15cc dish pistons. According to calculators my compression will be at about 9.6:1. Im planing on turboing it but cant afford it right now. I have a rod knock so i really just need to get it in the car. Iv been told by people it will run like a turd but then i read on here and it says a full point is worth 3-4% hp. Is 2% power going to be noticable?

Are you planning on running the same cam for both naturally aspirated and the turbo? If not, you might want to drop in a slightly smaller cam profile to raise your effective compression. That would easily make up for the loss of compression. That's one thought. Any chance you could go to a thinner head gasket?

I wanted to use ls9 head gaskets so it can handle boost. Il be putting in either a 234/234 112lsa or a 240/240 112lsa

Stick the smaller cam in it and drive it.

I mean is like 10hp really noticable? Or is it just kind of a different feeling?

When i removed my cnc l92 heads for trickflow 235 i went from 11.7 to 11.5 and still made a gain. Does this apply to you, maybe not. but i did gain while lowering my comp-some.

I'm sure it applys to me lol. It's a 390ci (6.4L) and I'm adding a cam lol. Right now all my car has is a stock ls1 with a cat back haha. What power do you guys think il be at? I'm putting my stock ls1 heads on it because money is tight right now. So how much power do you guys think il be at? I was thinking some where around 370 to the wheels. What do you all think?

Personally I wouldn't sweat the compression drop. I would build it for boost and boost it when that time comes. I think it is always better to keep the end goal in mind and if its built right it will be a wild ride when you go to forced induction.
