Interesting! I've always thought full-threaded bolts were not designed to to be used in critical torque situations. Then again, GM & Fel-Pro would know better than me...

Default I had an issue with the coolant filled bolt hole being cracked

I had an issue with the outer rear most head bolt being cracked from my donner car. So I did what any one would do. I welded the crack and used the serti-thread kit. It worked awsome!

You'se a bad mamajama to get after it without using the drill bushing.

As far as the flare at the end, that's what makes the time-sert so dope. Locks that son of a beyotch in place. I favor helicoils for low torque everyday fixes or open ended holes/soft metals, and time-serts for higher torque stuff.
