Can't say for sure but looks like a new valve seat and some work with a sandpaper roll would make it usable.

So u think that chunk above the plug could be sanded out if not to deep

If the head is nothing special, prolly cheaper to find another. If it's been massaged, you could get somebody to TIG a bead of filler in there and finish it down.

Yea +1 on just getting a new head...ls1 heads are going for under a $100 shipped for the pair...and that's not if you get lucky it's ALL DAY on parts classified ....unless they are ls6 or aftermarket head then I would look into repairing it...good luck

I still think it'd be cheaper to buy another (used) head. Check with this guy on E-Bay, he's in Waco so you might could save shipping $$$ if you're heading there...
