Default lm7 build question

I'm gonna have my lm7 bored to stock ls1 3.898 bore
going to keep 5.3 heads and rotating assembly exept pistons will be http://www.jegs.com/i/Mahle/644/LS1340898F04/10002/-1

I wanna drop my short block off have it bored and then put back to gather by the shop. new main and rod bearing, cam, rotating assembly, ect.

I want to have all or most of the parts ready to go when I take it there, so far I have the stock 5.3 and new pistons.

I assume 5.3 and ls1 use same rod and main bearings?
also I have to get a new head gasket to match the new bore, would any ls1 replacment work, as long as it's not smaller then 3.898 of course. like http://www.texas-speed.com/p-182-com...3910-bore.aspx

what other parts would you recommend having replace while the motor is apart?

I was advised to get new rods, I'm not very familiar with engine internals, if I'm using
Bore: 3.898''
Pin Diameter: .945''
-4cc Dome Volume
pistons, and stock 5.3 heads would 6.125" rods be fine?

Also Would changing main and rod bearings be advisable? and would stock replacements work?

If there are any miles on an engine and I have it opened I like to go ahead and put fresh bearings in just for peice of mind...have the shop check the crank and rods to be sure they don't need to be turned, then have the shop get the correct bearings and install them....your stock crank and rods should work fine, ss long as they are ls1 replacement pistons

You will need to get headgaskets to match the new bigger bore also, and the shop should use a torque plate when they bore/ hone your block....iron blocks aren't as important to use the torque plate as aluminum blocks, but it can still make a difference

Cam bearings are different size. 1898M is the part number you want.

no, LM7 uses 1898M, LS1 uses 1888M.

I first bought an LS1 set, and they didn't fit. The bores in the LM7 block were bigger.
