Default Dual Springs Harder to Install than Single Springs?

Are dual springs harder to install than single springs? I've got a set coming, so I was just curious.

Thanks,
Josh

Nope, not really. Just make sure you set the install height correctly.

It depends on what type of tool use. If you use the spring compressor that screws down from the top by hand it is a little harder because you have to make sure the hooks(or feet) on the bottom of the compressor are long enough to catch the inside spring.

Agree'd!

Regular spring compressors don't grab the inside spring that well and has atendency to pop loose. Everybody should do themselves a favor and either buy the Larry tool or make there own, it's about the best spring tool out there IMO..

Yes; they are much harder to install - particularly if you are attempting this while the heads are bolted on the short-block but only if the short-black and the heads are bolted to the frame under the hood. You will have a bitch of a time...

We've made a tool similar to Larry's, so should that make the job pretty easy?

I usually do them off the car. I hate in-car LS1 valvespring swaps. Not bad with single springs, but you're right it sucks with duals.

Josh, yes, that will make it much easier. I just removed my 987's for the Cranes and I started out using the standard star handled compressor till I got pissed and just made a tool like Larry's, it was so much easier and you have much more room to work with and the keepers are a sinch to get in and out..
