Default Spec me a cam for my 383 build.

Need help picking a cam for my 383, specs are below.

Hand ported ls6 heads
Mahle -6cc pistons...10.8:1 static cp ratio
Ls6 intake
3.73 gears
circle d 3c 3600 stall
occasional 150 shot of nitrous.

This is a street car with alot of track time (1/8th mile), I have a eps 226/234 .601/.598 113lsa cam right now but figured this is a little small. I would like to stick with my pac 1518 springs if possible, if not Ill have to get doubles.

not sure if it helps, but i'm putting in a comp cam,
Cam specs: comp cams 54-460-11, 235/243 .621/.624 113 lsa.

Mines a 383, 11.1:1cr, Wiseco -8cc pistons, 241 hand ported heads, with a fast 102/102 intake, 3.73 gears, still working on putting the engine together, but helps give you an idea for similar build.
Still working on a converter size, but that gives me an idea on a converter.
I will be adding NOS as well, gives me an idea.

Geoff at EPS recommended a 230/238 .600/.600 112lsa, could have gone bigger but don't really want to buy double springs/lightweight valvetrain when I have brand new PAC 1518s. This is pretty close to what Comp recommended as well, theres was a 231/239 but the lift was .625/.625 which was pushing it.

238/242 .595/595 112lsa. I ran this trickflow cam in my stock 346 and it was on the big side, but when I put it in my 408 it was on the small side lol so it just might work great for you, make good power and be easy on your valvetrain

I ended up going with Geoffs 230/238 cam, not looking for 500 at the tire or a max effort setup. The car will never see it on motor especially with a stalled auto through a Dana 60. Plus my heads and intake aren't good enough for that.

These cars are money pits lol it foes help if you do one step at a time.....get all your machine work to get the block perfect, and build a bottom end strong enough to hold a lot more than you ever plan on throwing at it......then run your old heads/ intake and less than optimum cam.

Next, even if you have to wait a year or two, them get the great heads, intake and cam

Yea I hear ya, Im shooting for something I can drive on the street and run 6s in at the local 1/8th mile strip. Should be close to that on the motor let alone with the juice. Yea I planned on a FAST 102 later this year, maybe in a few years Ill get some trick flows or AFRs and a bigger cam.
