Default Lightest LS1 replacement Rod

Outside of an Aluminum Rod what are the lightest rods you can get for an LS1 replacement. 6.125 is the length I believe

That is a good question. I'm curious to know that as well. I know my Dyers Top Rods are ~660g.

Lentz or Carrilo can get in the 500 to 520 gram weight. The Jager rod, transformed aluminum is around 430gms.

Lentz or the Carillo are what material? The Jager is a little pricey for me

A top quality rod from Carillo, Dyer, or whoever is going to cost you in the neighborhood of $1600. If you get really exotic, they can get close to $2000.

I'd say Carillo or Oliver would be good options.

Dyer is awfully good as well. Some of the best rods I've ever seen.

The Dyers are an awesome piece. I opted for the Lunati pro billets though. 625 grams.

You don't want to run Ti on a street engine. The negative about the rod is it is so ridged. You must have some about of energy abosorbtion with rod material so that "cushions" the power stroke energy and does not transfer all of it to the crank. Ti is run in the top classes but the rods are cycled as with anything. They are hard on bearings and need to be in an dry sump applicaton only.

I know Jager has taken 2 orders on LS1 rods, so 2 of you out there are running 430gm aluminums in your dailey driver drag car.

Looks like we're in the same ballpark. I have a solid roller 408. No nitrous at this point, but it was built to hold a 250 or so shot.

The Pro Billets are a damn fine rod too.

What pistons and crank did you use? How about your valvetrain?

what are the weights of the eagle and lunati pieces..I don't necessarily need an exotic billet rod. this isn't going to be a high horsepower app. just need a light rotating assembly

Well, we're right on par. Same for me. Only difference is the rods. I ended up with a good deal on my valvetrain, so I went with Jesel Pro Ultralights and Jesel lifters. Only thing that is a real pain is clearancing everything for the Jesels. Unpleasant.
