BBK intake vs ls6 intake
Don't buy into the heatsoak BS either. BBK is the medium between the ls6 and the fast.

only reason i sold the bbk was to step up to a fast 102
If you have a chance to go either route for basically the same cost go BBK, if the LS6 is the cheaper route, go LS6. Both are good intakes & both are proven. Other than that its a pissing match for those on both sides.
And I agree on the heat soak. I tried to preach that in the external section once upon a time but some people still believe when air is moving through the intake its actually in there long enough for the intake to heat it up which is BS. At WOT air is only in there for a split second. At idle is when you would see heat soak and even then once the TB cracks open and fresh air enters its gonna be a null point.

into the "it's Heeaaavy" thing). And almost all the aftermarket carb intakes are aluminum, and a lot of big power racing intakes are sheet metal. Sheet metal would retain a lot more heat than aluminum.
While I have seen tests that show the aluminum intake may be hotter, I have not seen any proof that it affects power in any way.
All laughs aside it is alot heavier than a composite intake. But thats just b/c of the material of construction. Is it enough to really matter, no not unless your the guy also pulling interior panels & tryin to save every single pound you can for a strictly track car.
