Nice setup. You have to admit when it first starts it does bring a big smile.

its the explosive street performance (and improved driving manners) he was looking for and in this particular case, the OP's buttmeter and the improved fun factor of the car will be a better barometer of money being well spent or not.
Different strokes for different folks but not everyone is hanging their hats on dyno and lower ET numbers.
Nail... head. BAM!

BTW you are correct - we did not once discuss track times (or dyno numbers as you already know).

Granted I did get a PM from him once about a shot gun and how big a hole it would potentially make in one of his pistons.....LOL
Thanks Tony! You already know it, but for everyone else - I'm a mechanical engineer. I work at NASA. That makes me one **** SOB. LOL
BTW it wasn't a shotgun, it was my pistol - stainless 1911 (Colt .45 auto).

I'm sure that will be the case but I always welcome a little good fortune...

Thank you Tony. I guess I jumped the good and didnt read through your posts good enough but Im also someone not interested in track times. My car might see the track once in the next 10 years. Im also interested in the butt dyno and boat loads of low end torque to make a very fun and driveable street cruiser. PM resent. Thanks again and sorry for the hijack OP.

Dude, after all I've been through with this build, when the thing lit right off the bat and I had oil pressure within 3-4 seconds I was giggling like an 8 year old girl.

edit - no problem mac!

Here's another pic I snapped last night, I'll bust out the real camera and take a couple pics outside this weekend (providing the weather is nice enough).

And yes, that's the stock MAF and blackwing lid on it still - I'll swap it out for the big MAF and lid when I get it up to the dyno...

Out of the shop! Went for our maiden voyage on Saturday, no issues at all! Installing an adjustable PHB, driveshaft loop, TA, and TA relocation crossmember this week then dropping it off for dyno tuning next weekend...

315's FTW!

mmm... shiny...

Just wanted to comment on this quick - although his customer service is truly badass, I never really felt like just a "customer". More like one gearhead talking to another gearhead. One just happens to be buying all the "goodies" from the other...

Hey Fran! Yeah, it's in pretty good shape. I bought it brand new and it only has ~36k on it. I only drive it when it's nice out, it does have a bit of surface rust underneath but that's because Maryland is a damn swamp.

Hopefully you'll see it on Saturday, I'm still waiting on some parts, and I have to re-bleed the brakes yet (pedal is a but mushy).

A friend of mine is in the process of putting together about an identical setup on his 02 Z28, same exact heads, same exact cam, same intake manifold etc. Car will also be tuned by Race proven motorsports ironically. Look forward to the results since youll get numbers before he will.

Damn, I didnt realize you were going all Mamofied!! Im definitely interested in some numbers!! Im not a big cam, top end power kind of guy either. Im happy with less peak power when there is useable power all over the place.

Tony is definitly a great guy, and he answers all of my questions. He even went above and beyond to help me out big time when I needed an engine.

Best of 444/391... and then something in the valvetrain let go on the fourth pull. I left it at RPM to diagnose... HUGE thanks to Evan for the ride home!

Rob it was nice meeting you today! I was the guy chatting w/ you when you were putting your maf on.

def good numbers considering a smaller side cam and cats

w/ more tuning and getting the valvetrain squared away i have no doubt that your car will be 450/400
