ARP doesn't show up on the vendors list so I'm assuming they are not a sponsor so it shouldn't be against any rules to post this link: http://store.procompelectronics.com/default.aspx
That's the website of the company in question, Pro-Comp. Looks like they have a rather large 75,000 square feet facility in California and claim to utilize some fairly extensive, rigorous quality control on their products. Doesn't say where any of their products are MADE per se, but my guess would be here in America. It seems their products are at least high enough quality to have won awards at SEMA for 3 consecutive years.
Have known people who have used these studs in several high power, boosted combinations with absolutely no problems whatsoever, so I suppose that's another +1 for the "Approved" team.
Bumping this because I wonder if there's anybody else who has an experience or two to share as well who may not have seen this thread.

from what im gathering, unless your running crazy amounts of boost like 30+ on an ls motor, these studs are gonna do the job for 1/4 of the price. granted ARP is great and has great quality, but inflation of price has gotten out of hand.
Its like Nike. Your paying for a name, not the shoes.

Well put it this way. ARP studs have a name for them selves and great quality. The name stands for the pricing. But with arp u will most likely never have a problem with using them since they put a lot of R&D into there product. My pro comp studs had a few issues with the Allen holes on the studs. Some worked and some I had to mess around with. With ARP u would never have issues like this. You get what u pay for! But still not worth the hassle in price difference for a few extra mins of time puttin something together. Just my .02.
Besides if we keep this thread up ARP head studs just might get a lot cheaper here in the near future. How's that sound? eBay might bring ARP bolts and studs prices to where us shad tree mechanics can actually afford them. Lol

You have problems in everything that is mass produced... you just got a bad set that was made on a Friday around Christmas!!! would be nice for ARP to lower the price but they wont to many people buy product at that cost.

I don't know why People are calling them eBay studs??? Its ProComp internet sells department that is posting there product on eBay. I think just cause you buy something on eBay doesn't mean the quality is bad. I bought my Comp Cams valve springs w/ a shirt for $30 cheaper w/ free shipping.... But they all " Summit, Jegs, ext..."sell there products on ebay cause they sell it at a cheaper price for internet sells.

I read this thread as well and thought the same thing cause 140 in lbs is only 11 ft lbs... I Torqued the 7/16 to 85ft lbs and didn't have a problem.

I just find it hard to believe there's not another company, hopefully made in the USA, that hasn't made a bolt that has a yeild strength of at least 170,000.
ARP is GREAT ****, no doubt, but I want studs, and 250+ is a tough pill to swallow. But as many say, buy once, cry once....
