Default HELP! middle of cam install i need help

O.K. I am installing my t-rex cam package and new ls6 intake. I thought since i had the intake off i could just remove the lifters like this and save me some money. Took the intake of and saw i guess was the valley cover loosend teh bolts on it and i am getting ready to remove the coolant lines. My quesiton is do i need a new gasket for the valley cover i am going to remove it to try to get to the lifters.
also there was a lot of crud under my intake that i have to clean up, i dont know where it came from. thanks
oh yeah btw i hate removing these intakes what a pain. thanks

The only way you'll get to the lifters is to pull the heads. LS1 isn't like the SBC where you can get to the lifters via the intake/valley cover.

I like to use new gaskets for stuff like that. Depending on what condition the gasket is in you might get by. I don't have the torque spec for that handy. Sorry.

http://www.ls1howto.com

check on JMX's site. It should be in the torque spec's somewhere.

Lot's of good info on how to do a cam swap on that site too.

Might call AutoZone, Advance Auto, Napa etc and check if they have one. Any of the dealerships in your area have the parts department open on Sat afternoon?
