Electric cutout help

Hey guys, Im having a problem with my electric cutout. When I took my car to the drag track the other night the cutout wouldn't close and the wires got very hot. I looked at the wires they were melted slightly but not broken or anything and the fuse was blown. I put a new fuse in and the wires continue to get hot when I try to close the cutout but im not seeing any movement. I manually moved it back and forth, it was stiff but moveable. Any ideas what to do next?

It sounds like you have a short somewhere. What brand of cut out do you have? How many wires are there?

DMH cutout, its wired to the cigarette lighter. It worked fine for past 3 months
