While it may be the OP's issue not every H/C build need a fuel pump swap. Mine didn't, I even bought the pump but never installed it. Fuel pressure is just fine. Not that's it's gonna hurt to put one in though.

Ok, should not need. Every H/C swap that's pushing well over 400whp should have a fuel pump swap. I can believe it, but I don't understand why anyone with 2 cents on this subject would disagree with this. When in the 450whp neighborhood, the stock fuel pump is reaching its limits if not already at its limits. If anyone forks out the dough for a heads/cam swap and installs bigger injectors, how or why in the hell would they not upgrade the fuel pump? Even if its just for ease of mind.

My dailey driver with heads/cam and all the bolt ons makes 452/418. It has done well with a stock fuel pump its whole life span. So far it has over 251,000 miles on it and it is still running strong. A stock pump will obviously handle a engine with head/cam swap.

Didn't feel like dropping the tank, looks like a real PITA and I don't wanna cut up on the car with the "trap door". Tuner said everythings good so I decided to leave it. Cars making good power for the mods it has so it's not struggling for fuel. I didn't disagree just said it's not absolutely necessary, and may not be the OP's problem.

I hear ya. I recommend it to completely eliminate a possible problem. Dropping the tank isn't all that bad. I'm actually doing a fuel pump swap and hotwire kit in a '99 Z28 right now. I've done them in C5's which is easier then eating pie due to design, but the first time in an f-body.

I just replaced a fuel pump. Dropped the tank and put in the new one. It took a hour and 15 minutes to have the car up and running again. Had use of a lift which makes it a lot easier. No big deal to say the least.

Just picked up my car today. They rescaled the injectors and fixed the tune via Patrick G. I was not there in person due to work but let me just say what a difference!!! Runs and drives great, not stalling or idle hang anymore. No cam surge, I'm finally really satisfied. Just bought a new fax / scanner so ill upload the new graph later. Car put down just under 475rwhp and 400rwtq with the torque curve as flat as a table!! Gopro 3 black edition came in today too, can't wait to try it out!!
