My car? Screwed the pooch. The car is 3350 without my 325 6'7" frame in it.

The 243s on an FWD 5.3 are worth a nice chunk too, wasn't saying it was a bad buy.

Far as a car's performance look at my sig, car is something close to 4200 with me and that is lightened some. Your car did not make anywhere near 500rwhp plugging it into that or any other calculator. Based on your calculator mine makes a lot more power and I would not guess mine to be but maybe 420rwhp max.

500rwhp in a 3300lbs car is easy mid 10s at at least 125mph.

Then just add an ati damper and a moroso vacuum pump and you will be over 500 to the wheels....

Now....500 to the motor, is pretty easy... Cam only and an intake gets you there
Not for 4K.... I can by an LSX crate motor from GM and make more then 500RWHP but it will cost aleast 9k. Hell I even have a warranty with it. Try getting that from a shop. H'mmm next build you bet.

We can tell you what parts combo will do it and what it would cost retail, but that isnt always the case.

People find rare buys, have buddies to give them stuff, and people don't mind used parts or how long the final product will last.

It can be done for $4,000, but it will take either one hell of a bargain shopper or sacrafice realiabilty to stay cheap or a combination of both.

OP, for 500RWHP, you need killer heads, big cam, Nitrous
Very true. The mag builds are always like that. They are given parts. My fav it was just lying in the corner of the shop. The dyno operaters had it sitting in the corner. ETC ETC. Oh they always dyno some junk yard build but never run it down the street. Let alone the track.

LM7, 317 heads, turbo, meth injection, LS6 intake and cam will yield those numbers you're looking for. The stock bottom end will hold up just fine. These things are strong. They're also fairly cheap and widely available. You might also be able to come up with a used turbo kit at a good price.

Very true. We run 10.7's to 10.3's depending on the weather. MPH is 126-131. The cars weight with driver 3460.

best bet for the money is to find someone who ALREADY built a engine and is trying to sell it here in ls1tech.

I got my 418 stroker complete intake to oil pan for 6k and it makes over 500rwhp

Someone link the HotRod mag article about making a 408 stroker and hitting 500 crank hp for like $5000 or so. Also because i can't freakin seem to find it

Edit: figures why i couldn't find it. It's a Car Craft article. 480hp (pretty sure crank) for $3775 http://www.carcraft.com/projectbuild...k/viewall.html

Although still not the article i was thinking of.
