What track was that at ?

Not be rude or downgrade LS1 owners but the lt1 has more low end power and no matter what you can't gain that only original stock form can have that. So the LT1 can grow in the high end and will stay great in the low end (im talking about the rpms) and then it will go higher in rpms with mods and have great low end the LS1 can only have high end power. Not to mention the LS1 is very weak when it comes to strength. The LT1 has a lot of strength. and is a better bargain.

but i will admit the LS1 is a decent motor.

This guy seems legit in his logic. I mean, the lt1 WAS only used in performance applications, and police cars after all.

Iron 2bolt main block vs deep skirted, cross bolted 6 bolt block? Ehh... Idk about.

If the lt1 is vastly more superior, why did my 325rwhp LT1 only run 11.80's@115, when my 344rwhp ls motor ran 11.15@120?
I can see where it really shows on the track. Now... o.O

I own a LT1 Trans Am i believe with the cold air intake and flotec muffler it has 300 hp which is the same as the ls1, but has much much more torque.

I beat one in a race but i dont know if it was fair because he wasn't flooring it and he was in the turn lane and didnt move when the light turned green and i floored it

LOL just a decent motor.. My LS1 makes 350 ft/lbs of torque at 2500 rpm with a mid sized cam and bolt ons.. **** an LT1.

Even the LS1 is getting older...People are starting to utilize 6.0 and 6.2 and strokers.

Are you getting 650hp N/A out of the stock cylinder heads on that LT1?

that's not that good dude.

Many older 350s are running much more than that. And ls1 is not a true 350, it's a 346. Thats why the LT1 has more strength and torque. But the LS1 is good on gas. i will admit that.

I have beaten sprayed f-body LS1s with my heads/cam junkyard shortblock LT1 in a grandpa car BUT even at that I think the OP is cracked. Any platform that is modded is often modded badly and he must be comparing to badly modded cars.

These days the lowly truck 5.3l makes the HP and torque the LT1s did. Granted they don't feel so great in a truck but trucks have gotten VERY heavy.

I am not saying every LT1 car should have the LT1 junked in favor of an LS just saying an open mind recognized it does offer advantages. Now I do think the LS crowd is overstating those advantages too. As with so many things the truth lay somewhere in the middle of both arguing sides.

The LT1 isn't a true 350 either, its a 349! I hope that doesn't turn your world upside down!
